Cheesy Spaghetti and Meatballs

500g mince

4 sausages skinned

1/4 cup grated cheese

1 cup diced bacon

1/2 cup breadcrumbs


1 small onion diced

1 tsp parsley

1 tsp mint

1 tsp basil

1 tsp oregano

1 bay leaf

1 tsp garlic

400g can diced tinned tomatoes

1 Tbsp sugar

3 anchovies

80g tomato paste

1 cup water

Extra grated cheese to garnish


1Combine all meatball ingredients together throughly and roll into balls about the size of your cupped hand and set aside

2Place all sauce ingredients into slow cooker and add in meatballs.

3Cook on high for 2 hours and low for 2-3.

4Skim off any excess fat with a spoon


1Could add in some hidden vegetables to fool those fussy eaters. Just dice finely and substitute for the breadcrumbs. Just need the mixture to be a little sticky at the end

So yumm! Definitely needs the sauce to be doubled though and I will make the meat balls smaller next time 🙂

This was crazy delicious. I didn’t have all the individual spices, so I used about a tbsp of italian herbs instead. Next time I’ll make double the sauce, so there is plenty for saucy spaghetti. It makes 4 generous servings. Thank you for sharing!
