Ingredients

  • 1 sourdough bread roll (large enough to fit your cheese wheel in)
  • 1 Camembert cheese wheel of your choice
  • 1 Tbsp Chives, diced
  • Foil to wrap

Instructions

  • Take your sourdough roll and carefully cut a large circular top from it to form your bread bowl lid
  • Carefully hollow out your roll so you are left with a hollow bread bowl big enough to sit your cheese in
  • Carefully drop your Camembert cheese wheel down into the hole for a snug fit
  • Using a sharp knife carefully cut a thin layer off top of cheese to remove the white coating from top of wheel only
  • Scatter with chives and replace lid
  • Wrap tightly in aluminium foil
  • Cooked on HIGH in 1.5L slow cooker for 1hr 20mins
  • When cooked unwrap carefully and discard foil to serve

Notes

  • As slow cookers can vary, if you find the cheese not well melted just re-wrap and return for extra cooking time
  • If you wish you can lightly toast the chunks of bread removed from the bowl initially as dipping pieces for the cheese
  • Also lovely served with cheese straws (as pictured) or other crackers or nibbles
  • Great for parties and entertaining 🙂
