
Blade Steak Casserole
This is one of many meals mum would cook by changing the choice of meat. Mum used seasonal vegetables, some home grown too.
Equipment
- 3.5 L Vintage Monier Slow Cooker
Ingredients
- 900 grams Blade steak, diced
- 4 Potatoes peeled and chopped
- 3 Carrots peeled and chopped
- 3 Sweet Potatoes peeled and chopped
- 2 medium onions diced fine
- 3 cups water
- 4 Beef stock cubes
- 2 Tablespoons Fruit Chutney
- Good dash dried Thyme
- Good dash died Rosemary
- 1 Bay leaf
Instructions
- Add diced steak to fry pan and fry 5 minutes.
- Add chopped vegetables in slow cooker bowl.
- Add fried steak to slow cooker bowl.
- Add water, stock cubes herbs, bay leaf, chutney stir well.
- Cooked on HIGH 3 hours, then dropped to LOW 4 hours.
- ***Vintage Moniers are very slow.
- Please check if your slow cookers run fast /hot. Adjust cooking time according to your slow cooker….not all cookers cook the same 🙏❤️
