1 kg Beetroot

2 teaspoons minced ginger

500 ml Apple cyder vinegar

500 grams sugar

1 teaspoon cumin

2 teaspoons ground cardamon

1 teaspoon ground cloves

4 green apples

2 onions finely chopped

juice of 1 fresh lemon

200grams raisins

2 tablespoons of cornflour at the end to thicken.


1Peel and grate the beetroot

2Peel and finely chop apples and onions place all ingredients into the slow cooker except the cornflour.

3Cook on high for 4 hours mix cornflour with cold water into past mix through.

4Place in sterilized jars and seal should last for several months.
