Delicious! Just like mum use to make! I did add an onion and carrots. Served on rice. 🙂
Used reciepe, but didn’t have apricot nectar so subsituted with a small jar of homemade marmalade and the French Onion soup mix + 1/4 cup water and was perfect – will be doing again!
I made this tonight, I used a 400g tin of nectar and 400g tin of half apricots. I only used 500g of chicken thighs sliced in half and put on low for 4 hrs! Added a onion too (only half put of French onion) delicious!
Very nice, i used 1 x 400ml apricot Necter, 1 x Onion chopped, 4x chicken fillets dredged in plain flour seasoned with oregano pinch salt & pepper, 1 x salt reduced french onion soup mix. Cooked for 4 hrs on low
Very tasty! Made it with 400ml nectar and a 400g halved apricots, half the chicken and one french onion soup mix, as hubby doesn’t eat apricot chicken. I loved it though
Could I make this using whole chicken breasts and shred them at the end ? or would chicken breasts be too dry for this recipe. Or could chicken legs be used ? Just wanting to use a cheaper cut of chicken 🙂
Hi Courtney, yes you can change to any cut of chicken. It all works with apricot chicken 🙂
Could someone enlighten me on what “seasoned flour” is? Is it literally salt and pepper in flour or am I ment to find this flour at a supermarket? ????????
Yes just add salt and pepper to season your flour Steph 🙂
I cooked this I loved it mine was cooked in 7 hours on low but I did only have about 1kg of chicken fillets only thing was my chicken was dry on the inside.
I’d do it more like 5-6hrs Colleen and you’d find it less dry 🙂
First time cooking apricot chicken ever.
This recipe was so delicious & tasted just how my Mum use to make it.
I wanted to add a creamy texture so added cooking cream towards the end of the cooking time.
I also added extra ingredients, onion, red capsicum & green beens towards the end. Also a clove of garlic at the beginning.
Served with white rice. Will definitely make this again ?
Great variations Jamielee!
really easy and yummy meal. served with rice. used 2 chicken breast and 400ml can Apricot nectar. yummy! thanks!
Enjoyed this one but could have been better. Wasn’t quite apricot tasting enough, there wasn’t enough sweetness as a traditional apricot chicken. Next time will try it with an apricot jam I think. Was good though and will make again 🙂 thanks
