Apple, sultana & cinnamon porridge

Ingredients
 

  • 2.5 cups rolled oats
  • 2lg cooking apples peeled and grated
  • 1/2 cup sultanas(or raisins)
  • 1-2 tsp cinnamon
  • 7.5 cups water
  • To serve
  • Milk or Greek yoghurt
  • Brown sugar or honey

Instructions
 

  • Put all ingredients,except milk or sugar(yoghurt/honey), stir pop on lid and cook overnight on low.
  • Stir before serving.
  • Pour a little milk, or a dollop of yoghurt, over each and sprinkle 1-2 tsp brown sugar or honey over top.

  1. Yum! I sometimes cook it on the weekend for a yummy Sunday breakfast, then portion it up for the week.

    Last time I made this one I used pears instead of apples for a change, and added some shredded coconut. I served it with milk, brown sugar and chia seeds.

    I would LOVE to try this but would like to know how long it stores for?? Obviously in the fridge and reheat in microwave??
    It would be absolute HEAVEN to have healthy & nourishing brekkies prepared for a full week!!!

  3. So so creamy and smooth. I chopped the apple instead of grating and added fresh dates chopped. Served with yoghurt and berries, yum.

    Definitely a 5 Star recipe. I added a few extra dried fruits but followed the recipe Exactly. I used my Breville SC as I wanted a looong slow cook. Will definitely be a regular brekky in our house.
