  • Yields: 4 - 6 servings

1 tsp butter

200ml bottled apple sauce

1tsp crushed garlic

1tsp seeded mustard.

1tsp mild German mustard

2 tbsp honey

Cracked salt

(alter any marinde measurements to personal taste)

1Warm slow cooker and add tsp butter to melt.

2Trim rind and excess fat from 1kg+ pork chops and straps then cut into preferred size for plating.

4Pour half marinade mix over first layer, add more pork and add remaining marinade.

5Cook on high for first hour then turn back to low for 3 more hours.

6Skim excess clear fat from top of broth several times during cooking, allow skim mix to cool in fridge and at end of cooking separate solid fat from marinade and return marinade to slow cooker.

I used whole chicken breast and chopped shortcut bacon instead of pork. Was a little worried with apple sauce and chicken but it was very nice. Almost like a creamy sauce without the cream. The german mustard tastes a bit like dijon mustard if you need to substitute. Not overly sweet. Would make again
