I cook them often but I always use garlic butter instead of oil

I love these & make them often using garlic butter. Just need to watch my slow cooker as it cooks very hot.

I made this exactly as per the recipe, just perfect, thanks Pauline. My husband loves spag bol but I have never managed to cook it exactly to his taste. This recipe nailed it.

We love this recipe but I did find that the pasta became very soggy when I added it at the beginning. I now add it about 45 minutes before serving and it turned out fine. I also add broccoli if I have some.

I made this using gravy beef - I added some sliced mushrooms (which we love) and substituted mint sauce for horseradish. It was awesome.

Thank you so much for this recipe Pauline.- I have never managed to get close to the pea & ham soup that my mum used to make until I found this recipe. Best pea and ham soup ever - family & friends love it
