Ingredients
 

  • 2 kg Budget Beef Mnce ($5/kg)
  • 1 kg Diced Frozen Mixed Veg ($1.80/bag)
  • 2 cups brown rice (35¢ per cup)
  • 1 cup 12 grain soup mix (55¢ per cup)
  • 1/2 cup Rolled Oats (22¢ per 1/2 cup)
  • 2 tbsp Vegemite (25¢ per tbsp)
  • 2 tbsp Honey (15¢ per tbsp)
  • 1 tbsp Minced Garlic (10¢ per tbsp)
  • Sprinkle of Herbs if desired
  • ****All prices are in Australian dollars & are by the brands I buy.

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to cooker. You can break up into several cookers or make a smaller batch
  • Pour boiling hot water until ingredients are covered
  • Cooked on low, I put on before bed, turn off when I wake up. On high it takes approx 2 hours
  • I divide it all up once cooled. Recipe is named after my dog 🙂

  1. I have been cooking this recipe for ages and it was pointed out to me that I have never put a review on the recipe. I used a 5ltr and a 3ltr slow cooker and cooked on low overnight. My dog loves this whenever he gets the chance, it is a fantastic addition to his otherwise rather boring daily dry food.

  2. My babies love this. Ive since also tried it with 2kg chicken pet mince ($1kg) and tuna, both worked wonderfully. I also added tumeric black pepper and coconut oil. Which is my dogs requirements and good for joints and digestion.

  3. Made this for my boys halfed the recipe so I could fit in the slow cooker

    Past 2 nights both bowls empty i gave them 200g each as that’s what they used to get when I gave them the dog roll

    Will do my maths but I think this will be cheaper overall and I can cook overnight for them
