Sweet apple and sultana damper

Simple to prepare and a very tasty outcome, delicious served hot with butter or honey. Kids love it as it is being eaten within 2 hours of starting the prep.

Sweet apple and sultana damper

Simple to prepare and a very tasty outcome, delicious served hot with butter or honey. Kids love it as it is being eaten within 2 hours of starting the prep.

Cook Time 1 hour 30 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 35 minutes
Servings 10 slices

Ingredients
 

  • 500 mls apple juice (no added sugar)
  • 3 cups self raising flour, sifted
  • 1 cup sultanas
  • 3/4 cup splenda (sugar substitute)

Instructions
 

  • Mix all ingredients
  • Pour into a greased 3.5l sc (use baking paper if you want a less crunchier base and edges)
  • Use The Tea Towel Trick cook on high for 1.5 hours
  • Insert knife into damper. If it comes out clean it is cooked. Comes out doughy, add 15 minutes cooking time and repeat test

  1. Hi Felicity. I would say yes to equal amounts of sugar as a starting point. It will come down to personal taste on whether you want more or less.
