    Mind blown!!
How can 3 ingredients create so muck flavour??
(I used 2 packs of the French onion soup mix) .
All 4 kids and the man child loved it…. this will be made on a regular basis
Winner Winner, sticky chicken dinner 🙂

This was so yummy and I received compliments, which is unusual. Hehe. Definitely 5 star. Only thing I would do is not cook it for the 4 1/2 hours next time. I think my slow cooker may cook hotter, so think I would cook for 3/12 – 4:00 hours in mine.?

  3. Can I throw this straight in the slow cooker or does the honey burn & hard wash up? Do I use grease paper on the bottom?

  4. This was amazing winner in our family
I miss read and use 3/4 cup honey but was divine I put the honey and French onion in slow cooker stirred together then put in the thigh fillets mixing through to coat the chicken and cooked as per instructions

  5. I enjoyed this a lot more then I thought I would as I don’t eat honey haha but it was delicious. I paired it with fried rice and it was the perfect combo and 4 hours was enough cooking time for me.

  6. Made this and for 3 ingredients it was great! Might just have to go to the store and make it for supper for Friday night when the hubs gets home!

  7. We tried this recipe this week.
Super easy and tasty just as the recipe reads and thickened with cornflour as suggested.
Since l had picked up drumsticks on special it was also a good budget meal.
I served it with mash potatoes and veg in season.

  8. Such an easy and tasty recipe made exactly as the recipe states. Lovely with mash and in season veg. As l had picked up drumsticks at $2 a kg it was also a true budget meal this time too.

  9. I’m a bit dumb so forgive the question but do I make the packet soup up and then add ho ey or just honey TIA

  10. Oh my!! This was delicious!! I used chicken drumstick fillets (nice and cheap). I resisted the temptation to stir it often so the chicken didn’t fall apart. I thickened the sauce with cornflour. Next time I’ll have to increase the sauce as I kept having to taste it ?. Every bit as good as the best takeaway.

  11. Had for dinner last night big hit with my family ? thanks for the recipe will be making this again I used chicken breast thats what I had in the freezer pulled out night before ?

My goodness… We had this tonight and was exceeded expectations! So easy and delicious! Served with mash and steamed veg

  13. So simple and so freaking delicious!
I used brown onion soup as I couldn’t find it here in Checkers (South Africa) and I also used breasts because it was all I had. Naturally, the meat was drier but it was still fantastic on some sweet potato mash!

  14. Tried sticky French chicken tonight!!!
Soooo good!!! I thought it was going to be really sticky, but it was a beautifully balanced taste & quite saucy.

  15. Was yum and so easy. I used chicken breast and cut them into 4 and put in cooker. Was surprised how great it turned out. I was a bit worried as was no liquid but after the first hour and half there was a lot of liquid so I mixed the chicken around in the sauce again and put towel under the lid for the remaining time and sauce thickened to a great consistency. I did cook for 3 1/2 hours instead of 4 as breast meat seems to cook quicker and didn’t want it to dry out. I broke pieces up smaller to serve and was delicious. Served with fried rice and veg for hubby.

  16. I made my own gluten free French onion soup powder and made this recipe with a chicken thigh. I also put a couple of dried apricots on top. It was great. I will do this again

  17. I made my own gluten free French onion soup powder and made this recipe with a chicken thigh. I also added a couple of dried Apricots. It was delicious and I will make this again.

  18. So delicious, definitely a sweeter dish, but paired with something savoury/salty it’s perfect. Definitely recommend giving this a go ??

  19. Tried this meal for the first time tonight, used 650g of chicken breast, that’s what I had in the freezer. We had the honey and French onion soup mix in the pantry already so it’s been a nice quick and simple meal for us. I’ve over cooked it a little but also not a huge fan of the flavour. Probably won’t try it again, however did enjoy trying something new and the ease of the recipe

  20. This is divine! Just finished cooking it and cannot wait to serve it for dinner! Even with losing most of my taste thanks to Covid, I can taste this beauty!
    10/10

  21. Absolutely delicious!!
Will add more soup mix to cut through the sweetness a little next time, but this was AMAZING. Didnt even need to thicken the sauce. Fussy child & husband both loved it.

  22. I have been wanting to try this one for a while and finally made it last night. If you want quick & easy with the added bonus of tasty, you’ve found a winner here. The prep time is under 3 minutes, so even the busiest of people have time for this recipe. I made recipe exactly as stated and added fresh beans and carrots for the second half of cooking time and served over cauliflower rice. The sauce was so delicate and delicious . No cornflour needed, no tea towel trick needed, it was just perfect as it was. 3 hours on low for me did the job brilliantly with whole chicken thigh fillets. This one is a must try and I will make this again and again!

  23. Made this dish last night it’s amazing tho my slow cooker runs hotter it was perfect at 3 hours but I left it for 4 and chicken little dry … Also didn’t need to do slurry

  24. There was fight for the left over sauce. I added a bit of soy sauce and Asian vege and it was delicious.

I made this the other night with 2kg drumsticks, 1 pkt of French onion and nearly a cup of honey.
I decided to leave the sauce runny as we like it drizzled on our mash also.
It was delicious! Not one word of negativity, will be sure to do this again, thanks Paulene!

Tried this recipe for the first time tonight. Positive feedback all around. Husbands comment was “what’s on my plate tonight I’ll have again tomorrow please”. ….pity there were no left overs!

omg 3 things and it taste so good, hubby wanted mash with it so that’s what we did and some steamed Brock we kept it saucy thinking it would be good with rice too good with anything I bet! I love these dinners that take seconds to throw together. ours cooked a little faster but we have a big slow cooker so I am guessing the extra surface area did the job.

Loved this! I used half the amount of chicken but added chopped carrot, beans, and onion. Made enough for me, my husband, our 3yo, and a husband-sized lunch. Delicious.

  29. Would I be able to make this with chicken mince rolled into little balls? Looking for finger food for 18th birthday party. Could use with toothpicks in once cooked. If so, how long would you cook for?

Simple and sauce was so good..I opted for tea towel trick v. cornflour this time. Served with steamed rice. Easy only having 3 ingredients- loved this one.

  31. I made this for the very first time today! My 2 fussy boys basically licked the place! I doubled up so have a second serve in tbe freezer and will be making this again ?

Tried this as part of Set 8 of the 7 Nights of Slow Cooking book. It was delicious and so simple to put together. I used chicken drumsticks, so just made sure to come back during the cooking to turn them to make sure they all got good time in the sauce, but by the end of cooking, there was enough sauce to cover them anyway. I did use cornflour to thicken the sauce and it lost nothing of the flavour. I used the leftover chicken, shredded and in the sauce, on crusty rolls for lunch the next day.

Sticky French Chicken!! I just got to say, I didn’t have too high expectations due to the limited ingredients, but I was so wrong. After 3 bites Jamie said it has to go on our fortnightly rotation, and not monthly like I was going to. It’s full of flavour and bowls were polished off. We served ours with fried rice.

My 5yo twin boys really enjoyed this. I made as per the recipe using the tea towel trick and served with brown rice. Will give a serving to my mother-in-law as well!

Delicious! It’s amazing how so few ingredients can taste sooo good!! This is a new favourite! I cooked it in a 1.5 litre for less time and it turned out perfect! If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it!

Great throw together meal, a few ingredients that pack a tasty punch. Thickened the sauce which married beautifully with the mashed potatoes, a definite have again in our house.

Was quick and easy..not too sweet or salty. I used 2 packets of Salt reduced French Onion soup mix. Served it with fried rice.

Left over chicken has been shredded for tomorrow’s lunch wraps.

Really loved this recipe! It is definitely on the sweet side but I balanced it with some Worcestershire sauce and next time will go easy on the honey. Served with sweet potato/potato mash and veg. I cooked it for 1 hour on high and 2 hours on low plus added the cornflour to thicken it slightly.

I followed the recipe ingredients exactly.
The instructions I changed slightly in that I put the honey/french onion soup mix in first then added the chicken and stirred to coat.
I found this the hardest bit, trying to get it to coat the chicken as it was very thick.
As it cooked, the juices did give off a lot more liquid.
I wasn’t 100% happy as some of the pieces of chicken still looked a little bit too white at the end.
Next time I would probably give them a very short fry at the start, just to add a bit of colour.

The flavour was quite good and chicken tender. My husband really liked it, he would probably give it a 5 star rating. I liked it okay but will try some other recipes next time.

The most easiest and tastiest recipe ever. A firm favourite with all the family, mainly used breast but don’t cut too small and I found thickening at the end with corn slurry better than tea towel to prevent dry out. So wonderful ?
