Ingredients

  • 500g beef mince
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 18 small cheese cubes
  • 6 rashers middle bacon cut into 3rds
  • Toothpicks
  • SAUCE
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire
  • 1/4 c brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • (Or 1 and 1/2 cups of your favourite BBQ sauce)

Instructions

  • Combine mince, garlic, Worcestershire, egg and breadcrumbs into a bowl and mixed until combined (or get in there with your hands)
  • Grab a small amount of the meatball mixture, roll into a ball and flatten then place a cube of cheese in the middle and work the meat around it to form a ball.
  • Wrap bacon around the meatball and secure it with a tooth pick. It's OK if the bacon doesn't wrap all the way around, just place the toothpick strait through.
  • Place in the slow cooker and combine all sauce ingredients and pour over meatballs.
  • Cook for 3h on low, crisp up bacon in fry pan serve with mash potatoes or rice

  1. So easy… Kid friendly. I tweeted the recipe a little to use what I had. Sliced up leftover onion and red capsicum and put it on the bottom laying the meatballs on top. Used the garlic in the sauce instead of putting it in the mince. My 8yo old devoured two with mince. Will definitely be doing this one again. But using mozzarella cheese instead.

  2. So yummy! Made using gluten free ingredients, everyone loved it! We served the meatballs with mashed potato. Delicious meal!
