My family’s favourite pulled pork recipe. I serve it as burgers on brioche buns with homemade coleslaw and sea salt chips. Pineapple rings are also nice to add to the burger.

  • Yields: 6 servings

Ingredients

3/4 cup tomato ketchup/sauce

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

1/2 cup water

1tsp chicken stock powder

1/2 cup coke (not diet)

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

3 Tbs tomato paste

2 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce

1 Tbs English mustard

1 Tbs cumin powder

2 tsp smoked paprika

2 Tbs cornflour

1 tsp salt

1.5-2kg pork shoulder, ribs and fat removed

Directions

1Put all marinade ingredients in the slow cooker. Whisk with a silicone whisk until all well combined.

2Place in pork, cover with marinade.

3Cook on low for 8 hours.
