Dutch soup goodness!

Ingredients

2pkts green split peas, soaked overnight

2 small ham hocks (or one big one)

1 onion, grated

2 potatoes, peeled and chopped

1 carrot, peeled and grated

2 stalks of celery, chopped

1 Rookwurst Sausage

1 Litre Vegetable Stock

Directions

1Place soaked peas, ham hock/s, and all vegies into slow cooker.

2Pour stock over.

3Cook on low for 6-8 hours.

4Remove hock/s - allow to cool enough to handle so you can remove the meat.

5At this point, I blitz the peas and veg together (Hubby likes it smooth)

6Slice the Rockworst up and add it and the meat from the ham hock/s back to the slow cooker, stir, and heat through, adding a little water if you like a thinner consistency.

7Serve with fresh crusty bread 👌

Notes

1I prefer the split peas soaked overnight, but you don't have to

2I also prefer to blitz before adding meat back in, but again, it's purely personal preference

3Rookwurst is a Dutch Continental Sausage, available in the Deli section of most supermarkets

This is exactly the same as my recipe. Handed down by Oma. My entire family love it. I dont blitz though
