Try this recipe for you next slow cooked whole chicken :)

1.5-2kg free range whole chook
1tbs rice malt syrup
1tbs coconut oil
11. Melt butter in a pan and brown chicken all over, spray slow cooker and put some baking paper in. Place chicken upside down in s/cooker.
22. Juice limes and combine with salt, seasoning in the same pan over low heat and add rice malt syrup until melted.
33. Pour over and rub over chicken including cavity. I sprinkled (extra Cajun), salt and the coconut oil over the chicken before covering and cooking.
44. Cook for 6hours low or 3.5 on high.
1I cooked for 1 hour high, 3 hours low. Serve with steamed veg.
2Place 2tbs of flour in the leftover juices and whisk until it becomes gravy-like.
