Lemon Sago

A delicious and easy old fashioned dessert

Ingredients
 

  • 1/2 cup sago
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • Finely grated rind of 2 lemons
  • 4 Tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons of golden syrup

Instructions
 

  • Put sago and water into slow cooker on high for 2 hours until sago is clear.
  • Stir occasionally.
  • (I used my 3 litre cooker but could have been smaller.)
  • Turn off and add all remaining ingredients.
  • Stir thoroughly and pour into serving bowl and chill.
  • Serve with cream.

  1. Great recipe, however I put everything in together at the start and stirred it a few times during cooking. Turned out perfectly tastes just like lemon butter without the butter !! Same consistency as well – thanks for sharing

  3. This is the easiest lemon sago recipe that I have come across and is really yum ?. Like previous review, I added all the ingredients together, except the lemon juice. I added the juice last after I have turned off the slow cooker so to reduce the loss of vitamin C through the cooking process ??. I made 4 batches because I have a family size slow cooker. This will be great for parties, as you can make lots in advance and add finishing touches later ?.

  4. For years, I always made Lemon Sago in a pot, and it stuck to the bottom every time! Now I have found the SC is the perfect way to cook it! I also add a tin of crushed pineapple, using the juice as part of the water added.
