Italian Beef Cheek Casserole

Ingredients
 

  • 2-4 beef cheeks
  • 2x Carrots
  • 2-3 mushrooms
  • 1x capsicum
  • 1/2 cup spring onion
  • 1 tin diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 jar passata
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1/2 cup wine ( you can use red or white wine or balsamic vinegar as an alternative)
  • 2-3 tsp crushed garlic
  • 1tsp thyme
  • 1tsp chilli
  • 1tsp paprika
  • 2 bay leaves
  • splash soy sauce
  • 3 tbs oyster sauce

Instructions
 

  • Brown beef in a fry pan (optional)
  • Add all ingredients into the slow cooker
  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for around 4 hours.

Notes

  • Passata is a thick tomato puree and can be found in your local supermarket in the same section as bolognaise sauces.
  • This recipe also works well with lamb shanks or diced beef as an alternative to beef cheek.
