Honey BBQ Pulled Pork

Ingredients
 

  • 1.5-2kg boneless Pork Shoulder, trimmed of fat layer.
  • 2 medium onions, thickly sliced
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 x 375ml can of cola (Coke, Pepsi, Dr Pepper etc)
  • 500g Honey BBQ Sauce

Instructions
 

  • Remove netting from pork, using a sharp knife to remove fat (set aside for crackling if desired)
  • Lightly spray cooker bowl with cooking spray.
  • Cover base with onion rings
  • Place pork in the bowl.
  • Smear pork with minced garlic
  • Pour cola over pork
  • Pour approx 450ml of sauce (keeping 50ml in reserve) over pork
  • Cook on Low for around 7-9 hours. Pork is ready when it breaks up under gentle pressure.
  • Carefully transfer pork into a bowl and shred with two forks.
  • Ladle, or tip out, all but approx 2cm (1/4inch) of the liquid remaining in the slow cooker bowl.
  • Return pork to slow cooker and add 50ml of Honey BBQ sauce kept in reserve. Stir.
  • Cook on low for a further half hour.
  • Serve with bread rolls, coleslaw and potatoes wedges.
  • This dish was cooked in a 7l Breville Banquet Maker

    Made to the recipe and had a great flavour, I used Coke and Smokey BBQ Sauce..
    The family are quite enjoying these meals and so am I..
    Recommend to try this one…!
