My boys absolutely love these sausages, I have four boys, so I cook extra sausages and adjust the liquid accordingly 😊
Serves beautifully on mashed potato!

  • Yields: 4 servings

Ingredients

2 onions sliced into rings (optional)

2 tablespoons wholegrain mustard

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup water

6-8 Sausages

Directions

1Place onion rings in bottom of slow cooker.

2Mix mustard, brown sugar and water.

3Cut sausages up (or leave whole) I use a pair of scissors to portion my snags directly into the slow cooker.

4Place sausages on top of onion rings.

5Pour mustard mixture over sausages.

6Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours 😃

7I don't brown my sausages first, personal preference if you choose to.

Was not too sweet as I originally thought. Served with creamy mash.
My son raved about this one – “hey mum, you didn’t ruin the sausages”.

This is one of the best slow cooker recipes I’ve made! The whole family loved it and even though I doubled the recipe (because I needed to use up sausages) and there are only three of us, there’s not much left. I modified it to make it low carb and it came out great. I skipped the onions because I’m not really a fan of a lot of obvious onion (and the original recipe says they’re optional), and I replaced the sugar with sugar free maple syrup and left out the water. It didn’t come out sticky, but it did come out delicious! The sauce mixed beautifully into the garlicky cauliflower mash too.

Was quite dubious about this but we really enjoyed it! I did have to add cornflour to thicken the sauce but the rest was perfect.
