  1. Having this tonight and it’s looking awesome! I used fresh carrots beans and capsicum instead of frozen veg and chicken stock and Singapore noodles in place of 2 min noodles & seasoning but just snuck a taste and I can’t wait for dinner! Thanks for an Easley, cheap tummy filler.

  2. Thank you for this recipe. This is easy to make, very tasty and was very filling as a main meal. Also it lends itself to tinkering to your own personal preferences. I doubled the recipe because I like freezing lots of left overs. I added minced garlic when browning onions and next time i will add chilli cos I like a kick (I would add chilli to ice cream!!). Overall I can highly recommend this as an easy to prepare, tasty and healthy meal choice. It would also sit well as a side to a main meal.

  3. Haha just read my own review after having cooked this again today. Again I doubled the recipe and added minced garlic (one heaped teaspoon) into the onions. I added 6 small chillis (chopped and seeds in !!), used a 450g slaw mix and 1/4 of cabbage, a pack of frozen vegies, tripled the curry powder, and 5 packs of mi goreng noodles (and all the spice/oil etc). When serving I microwaved scrambled egg (5 eggs). A meal and 12 leftovers, devine and so much in my strong flavour preference.

  4. didn’t use stock , or the 1 minute noodles i used those in the pots , i liked it , daughter said it was bland, ( didnt have any peanut butter or tomato sauce flavour i think is what she meant )

  5. I am doing Chemo, and lost Taste Buds, so anything that goes in Hot , is good for me. and this will sure boot m,those buds with extra curry, and garlic..come on tea tonight..thanks for simple recipe.

  6. Thank you Pauline, this is a lovely recipe, that is definitely on repeat. The smell wafting through the house while it was cooking, got the attention of the trade putting our appliances in.

  7. A bowl of Deliciousness ? I added Chilli as we like a bit of kick, will definitely be making this again.

  9. I’m making this tomorrow for the first time. and have a quick question.
Woolies sent me Wombok (Chinese cabbage) instead of normal cabbage in my grocery order.
Does anyone know if it will be ok to use and will it cook quicker/differently than normal cabbage?
    TIA

This was delicious. I usually use the Masterfoods recipe base to make chow mein, but not anymore.
I used fresh veggies and cooked it a little longer (just until they softened) and added a little extra curry.
This is yet another recipe I will add to the rotation. Simple, inexpensive and a hit.
