Drunken lamb shanks

Ingredients
 

  • 4 large lamb shanks
  • 1 tblsp tomato paste
  • 4 cloves crushed garlic
  • 2 carrots sliced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 2 celery stalks sliced
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • S&P
  • 1/4 cup tomato ketchup
  • Water
  • 1 can beer
  • 1/2 cup wine red or white
  • 1-2 tblsp beef stock powder

Instructions
 

  • 1) place all ingredients in slow cooker and cover with water.
  • 2) cook on low for 8-9 hours

  1. This recipe was absolutely gorgeous. The sauce was so nice I finished it off with a spoon and kept the leftover sauce in the sc to use as a gravy for a meal the next day. The only thing I did differently was that I mixed the sauce up separately and then poured it over the lamb. Make sure you use the sauce as gravy, yum.

  2. Decided to try this one tonight and wow, bloody great feed, sauce great, shanks great, served with potato mash and broccoli, mm mm, must try for sure
