500grams lamb mince
1 teaspoon salt
1.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1.5 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon mixed herbs
11. Mix all of the herbs together
22. Add mince and mix very well
33. Roll into a loaf shape
44. Place in the slow cooker
5Cook on low for around 6 hours, OR High for around 4 hours
6After cooking, take out and wrap in tin foil for roughly 10 minutes
8Slice thinly and serve with your desired sides

This was delicious! Will def make again. I added teaspoon cumin and coriander as well. Rolled into egg shape and wrapped in plastic wrap and left in fridge for few hours then placed in slow cooker (without wrap) on bed of sliced onions to keep it dry. Ate in pocket bread with coleslaw type salad and sour cream and garlic aioli. Will make larger portion next time.
So easy to make. Thanks for a great recipe.

This was absolutely delicious. Maybe a little less cayenne pepper next time for my little one but perfect for us adults. We absolutely loved it

I prepared this and left in fridge overnight (double recipe)
I put sliced onions on the bottom of the slow cooker and added the loaf straight on top.
Wrapped in foil after cooking and it turned out great.
I only used 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper instead of 1.5 and I used Master Foods ‘Lamb Herbs’ as the mixed herbs.
It was still quite hot but was balanced by adding the tzatziki, lettuce and tomato, I drained the onions and finished them off in the fry pan and added to the pita pocket

I’m confused about poeple asking whether it matters cooking it in foil and this has not been addressed in replies. The recipe quite clearly states wrapping it in foil AFTER it’s cooked. Was it ever worded differently?

My Family love this, I make up a huge amount and freeze them in vacuum seal bags as you can heat the in the sealed bag in hot water , while away camping .

This tasted better than it looked.
I used a kilo of lamb and 2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper which was WAY too spicy for us and we like spice. I will try this again but will only use half the amount of cayenne pepper.

Have used lamb mince, also used beef and pork mince, works well. I don’t use cayenne pepper, have only used Italian herbs as well.
Wrap in foil first then cook. 3hrs on high.
Use wraps with grated carrot, sliced tomato, tinned beetroot cubes, cheese, lettuce and sour cream with BBQ sauce
Lightly toast in sandwich press.. Yum!

Making this for the third time in my house, best recipe I’ve found for this and love that it’s in the slow cooker and I dnt have to worry about it !! Moxnit up stick it in and let it cook .. Served with low calorie chips and coleslaw amazing !!

I was very surprised how nice this tasted. Did only add 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, glad i did. Even my fussy hubby liked it.

So after rolling in a loaf just put straight in sc with nothing at the bottom and not wrapped up in foil until after its cooked

This is to die for but do not put 1.5 of a teaspoon of cayenne pepper , i put 1 teaspoon to 1 kg of mince and it was still very spicey hot

Absolutely delicious. I must admit I was a little skeptical but this turned out beautifully. As I sliced it I still wasn’t overly impressed but once wrapped in pita bread with lettuce, onion, cheese and sauce then toasted it was superb!! Even my fussy kids enjoyed it.
Very easy recipe and a hit in our house with hubby and kids!
