A budget friendly meal that is hearty and perfect for the family especially on those cool winter days

  • Yields: 4 servings


1kg sausages

1 cup mushrooms

2-3 carrots peeled and sliced

2 cups of chicken stock

1tsp Brown sugar

2tsp garlic

2tsp curry powder

1tsp ginger

2tbs Worcestershire sauce

1tbs tomato paste

1tsp of onion powder

1/2 tsp thyme

1/2 tsp Rosemary

2 bay leaves

1tsp oil

Cornflour to thicken

Season with salt and pepper


1Cut sausages into chunky pieces and place all ingredients into your slow cooker and cook on low for 5/6 hours.

2If your sauce isn't thick enough about 30 minutes before serving mix 2tbs of cornflour with the same amount of water so it turns into a slurry then pour it into your slow cooker and mix.

3Serve with rice, mash or steamed greens

I tried your Recipe today Jarrah. It turned our amazing. I did add frozen veges an hour before completion and served the dish with creamy garlic mashed potatoes. Incredible depth of flavour. Well done. I recommend this Recipe highly and have made it one of our regulars.
