1Spray slow cooker bowl with non stick oil spray.
3Layer 1/3 of potato slices in bottom of bowl.Add half of onion and half of bacon. Layer 1/3 of potato slices on top.Add remaining half of onion and bacon.Layer remaining potato.
4In a bowl stir milk, cream, garlic and salt and pepper to combine. Pour over potatoes.
6Cover and cook on HIGH for 2hrs then LOW for 2-3hrs depending on your cooker.(Auto function for 5hrs will achieve the same result)
8Half an hour prior to serving top with grated cheese and cook until melted.
9*Notes*- Every slow cooker is different. If you worry your potato bake is getting too dry you can add further milk/cream or even just milk. It will all still come together by the end.

11The extra sauce in picture was just something I added at the time for extra flavour - totally optional - some people like a squirt of mustard also
