Ingredients
 

  • 8 chicken pieces (aprox)
  • 25 grams butter
  • tablespoon plain flour
  • tablespoon tomato past
  • 225 grams bacon
  • 16 shallots (you can use onion)
  • 4 sticks celery
  • 1 carrot
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 225 grams mushrooms
  • salt and white pepper
  • 2 cups red whine
  • 3 tablespoons cognac ( I use cumquat brandy drank all he cognac opps) you can also leave this out.

Instructions
 

  • Roll the chicken in the flour
  • Brown in the melted butter
  • Add all ingredients to the slow cooker.
  • Cook for 6 hours on low

  1. This was a great recipe, and my family and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
    Next time I will add a bit more flour, or maybe some arrowroot at the end to make it slightly thicker. I will also add more carrots and mushrooms as they were sooooo yummy. I used a whole chicken cut up in parts, next time i think i will just go for the Maryland cut…
    I served it with mashed potatoes, and it was lovely!
