Chinese Style Chicken 5 0 5 8

This Chinese style chicken recipe is simple and delicious, and kid friendly.

  • Prep: 10 mins
  • Cook: 2 hrs

    2 hrs

    2 hrs 10 mins

  • Yields: 4 servings, 1 chicken breast per person

Ingredients

4 chicken breasts

Sauce

1/4 cup Hoisin sauce

1/4 cup Sweet Chilli sauce

1/4 cup Soy sauce

1/4 cup water

5-6 drops of Sesame oil

4 cloves of crushed garlic

Directions

1Mix all sauce ingredients together in a jug or bowl to combine.

2Place whole chicken breasts in a single layer in your slowcooker.

3Pour sauce over the chicken.

4Cook on low for 4 hours.

5Once cooked, slice the chicken to serve, and pour over as much or as little sauce you like.

6You could serve it on a bed of any type of rice or noodles you prefer, and any salad or veg you like.

7Please note....as every slow cooker cooks differently, you may find you need to adjust cook time. I used my Breville 7 litre slow cooker , which seems to cook quite hot, for only 2hrs cook time

8Hope you enjoy!

Yum, Loved this! I halved all the ingredients as it was only for 2 adults, and cooked for 3 hours in my 3.5L Russell Hobbs. I served it with a green salad and found the sauce worked really nice on the salad too. My daughter wasn’t a fan because she found it too spicy but she won’t eat anything with even a slight amount of spice. I myself don’t like spicy foods and didn’t really find it too spicy at all. Will definitely be making this again..

Verdict of my dinner last night: What an easy weekend dinner for the family 🙌🏻

They only took around 2.5hrs on low in my 7L Breville

So easy to serve with some oriental rice 🍚

The kids all enjoyed it too 🙌🏻
Thanks Di for your easy recipe 🙂

Thanks Di best ever made it twice now and throughly enjoyed. Tasty easy my kind of recipe

I would assume it’s regular if it’s not specified as Kecap Manis sweet soy but I’ll ask Di to be sure 🙂

Such a brilliantly simple, yet absolutely delicious meal 😋😍 Thanks so much for sharing this with us Di 😘 It will definitely stay on rotation in our family fave meals for sure! I served ours with the fried rice 2 recipe on the site and left the breast fillets whole. So, so yummy 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
