1Spread potatoes across base of slow cooker
2(the aim is to create a single layer of potato that covers the bottom of the slow cooker)
3Scatter bacon and onion over the potato
4Divide each tablespoon of butter into about 4 portions so that you can scatter the butter in pieces over the potato area
5Add cracked black pepper to taste
6Cover and cook on HIGH for 3hrs 30mins (no tea towel) or until potato is tender but not too soft
7In the last 15-20 minutes scatter cheese over the potato smash to melt.
8Serve straight from your slow cooker - delicious!
