Cheesy Baked Bean Pasties

Slow Cooked flaky pastry pillows filled with baked beans and melted cheese. Great for breakfast on the run or a light snack or lunchboxes ?

Ingredients
 

  • 200g can baked beans
  • 1/2 cup grated tasty cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 additional egg, whisked, to brush pastry

Instructions
 

  • Mark and cut a sheet of puff pastry into 4 squares
  • Combine the two grated cheeses together in a bowl
  • Remove excess sauce from baked bean can and discard
  • Place a triangle area of cheese into one half of each square. Add approx 2 tablespoons of baked beans onto each cheese area.
  • Fold the other half of pastry square over the beans and cheese to form a triangle shaped pillow. Press down along the two open sides of pillow with a fork to seal.
  • Line slow cooker bottom with a sheet of baking paper lightly spritzed with non stick spray.
  • Place pastie pillows in slow cooker in single layer and lightly brush top of each one with egg wash
  • Cook on HIGH for 1hr 20m total using The Tea Towel Trick
  • Turn over half way during cooking and rebrush the second surface with egg wash also
  • Serve hot and fresh or wrap in foil for lunchboxes
