Shredded Beef and Black Bean - Easy Style

Ideal to serve over Hokkien Noodles but mash and vegetables are also nice

Ingredients
 

  • 1.2kg Beef Roast (Bolar)
  • 1 bottle of ready made Beef and black bean sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Garlic/fresh garlic
  • Hokkien noodles to serve

Instructions
 

  • Place beef into Slow cooker
  • Pour sauce over meat
  • Add a little water in jar and shake to get excess and pour over meat
  • Sprinkle garlic on top
  • Put lid on slow cooker
  • Turn on low for about 8 hours
  • Halfway through cooking just turn meat
  • When finished shred meat and return to cooking sauces
  • Serve over hokkien noodles with side of steamed veg

    Thought I’d try this, but the result was way too salty with a whole bottle of black bean sauce. I thought I’d used the wrong thing, when I noticed that the recipe called for Beef and Black Bean sauce, but I could find no such thing at the supermarket.

    In addition to my original post, it appears I did use the wrong stuff. I’ll have to try it with something like Kan Tong sauce
