Apple Pie Filling

I used this as apple pie filling and apple crumble but you could use it for anything or just eat them!
They are yummy on there own with some ice cream

Apple Pie Filling

I used this as apple pie filling and apple crumble but you could use it for anything or just eat them! They are yummy on there own with some ice cream

Servings 28 small pies or 8 cups of filling

Ingredients
 

  • 12 cups diced apples ( about 17 small apples)
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1/4 cup cornflour
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 3 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • - Put the diced apples in the slow cook
  • - In a jug mix the golden syrup, brown sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon into the boiling water and once dissolved add to the apples in the slow cooker
  • - Mix the cornflour and cold water well and add to the slow cooker
  • - Stir it all together
  • - Lid on and cook on low until tender (Its About 8-9 hours or high for 4 )

  1. So I made this last week. It was inedible. I think maybe the measurements for the spices are supposed to be teaspoons?
    Trying it again today with adjusted spice.
