This is a great recipe that's not as sweet as it sounds. You end up with a soft gooey cake and slightly thick chocolate sauce. The sauce/cake ratio is a little out in my opinion and you can easily get away with 2 cups of boiling water rather than 3 and still have plenty. After eating the whole cake with sauce for each person we still have heaps of sauce left over.
I successfully cooked this recipe in my 3.5L with no issues at all too. I just had to extend the cooking time to 3.5hrs and it turned out perfectly. We will definitely make it again and recommend it to anyone who loves this type of dessert.
This recipe is delicious however the cake/sauce ratio is out. You can successfully use 1.5/2 cups of boiling water (with adjusted cocoa powder) and still have heaps of sauce.
I also made this in my 3.5L with no issues at all, the only difference is I had to cook it for 3.5hrs instead of 2.5.
